Campaign Settings

Gundarya

Gundarya is a fictional realm created by C.J.Owen as a background setting for fantasy role playing games. Many of the statistics are based on the 4th edition GURPS rules from Steve Jackson Games, but the majority of material is free of game specific stats. This is a list of all the relevant subjects to Gundarya, similar in function to a table of contents in a book. The sections are ordered by topic. For a more general overview of the realm of Gundarya go to the Overview Article.

Astounding Chronicles

Astounding Chronicles is a fictional setting created by C.J.Owen to use as a background for a Pulp genre role playing game. This is only a sketch, and was thrown together to fill in what was needed at the time. My thanks to those who have helped with historical perspectives. I imagine more bits will be added should I revisit the campaign.

In 1936 Germany had just remilitarized the Rhineland and was building its forces. Japan was well underway with its invasion and subjugation of Manchuria and was gearing up to invade China the following summer. The United States was in isolationist mode, confident that it was immunized from the troubles of the world by the expansive oceans. The Great Depression was still going on, occupying everyone's daily lives with just managing to scrape buy.

Then the rocket ships from the planet Jupiter invaded, and that changed everything...

Star Frontiers Alpha Scion

This is a home brew conversion of the old Star Frontiers role playing game from the 1980's with some updates for a more modern feel, yet still retaining the original's charm.

It's name reflects it as a near and dear descendant of the original, without being a complete conversion. You can find all the original publications, available for free, from the Star Frontiers Official Site. You can also find copies of the fan publication Star Frontiersman Magazine at their site.

Also, T-Bone's Games Diner has some good GURPS conversion info, if you want to really dig down and copy as much as possible from the old publication. http://www.gamesdiner.com/2010/03/more-star-frontiers-goodness

This site includes my ideas on Frontier technology and background, racial conversions to GURPS 4e and a guide to equipment picked from the lists of GURPS Ultra Tech and Ultra Tech 2 that reflect the Star Frontiers flavor (Just as an index of the equipment and what page of book to look in, due to a desire to respect SJ Games IP.)

Maps

A collection of maps I have made over the years.

Magic Items

Descriptions of various mystical items used in games along with rules (usually in GURPS 4th ed stats.)

Technology

Similar in purpose to the Magic Items Section, this covers unique items of a more sci-fi nature.

Characters

A growing collection of Player Characters (PC's), NPC's and other encounters, this a useful resource for those looking for a quick character for their own game. They will mostly be GURPS 4th ed, but will include descriptions that should make them useful for any game. Also, the GURPS Lite rules are a free pdf download that very clearly shows the basic assumptions of the rule set and so a cursory look should allow one to figure out how to adapt any given character to their most familiar rules.

Dan Dynamo Genius inventor and two-fisted crime fighter (pdf) (Pulp Action 415 points)
Sam Shade Private Eye Trained in the mysteries of the Far East (pdf) (Pulp Action 414 points)
Gregory Gatsby Adventuring war veteran and relic hunter (pdf) (Pulp Action 405 points)
Luarka Spatha Amazon Warrior from Venus
Rufus the Sharp Adventuring Adept
Zurig Chandro Medical and Science Freelance Operative (pdf) (Sci-Fi, Star Frontiers 225 points)
